Miammagazine is not a traditional magazine that you can find in a press-corner or in a bookshop. It is a collection of oil paintings produced on wood panels prepared in following the tradition of “tavola.”
The purpose of this collection is to question the subject of painting through the creation of magazine covers.
Miammagazine is a monthly magazine published at uncertain date. Behind what it can be understood as a joke, each cover is a case for a journey through the art history to explore its different topics such as history, religion, politic, sociology, etc. Also the magazine is questioning the relation between figurative and abstraction, without forgetting the main themes concerned by the history of painting such as portrait, landscape, nude, still life, etc.
Miammagazine covers also explore the relation between words and pictures. Words used are coming from the lexical field of the press magazine, also from internet (media, commercial, governmental, etc.) to generate unexpected meanings.
